2025 Favorites

I thought it would be fun to share things that I really enjoyed this year and give a little blurb on why I really enjoyed some of them!

Favorite shops, things purchased, etc.

Stationary: Sarica Studio
I purchased all my traveler’s notebook inserts and some gorgeous stickers through this small family-owned business, Sarica Studio. I also really enjoy Sarica’s YouTube content.

Apothecary, oddities, etc: Wick&Cranny
Ordering anything from this shop is such an amazing experience. I’ve ordered multiple times in the last few years and each time I’m surprised by how beautiful everything is. Even just unpacking the items feels so magickal. I really enjoy her “Forest in Your Hair” hair perfume and the various oddities she carries. It’s so fun.

Cleaning supplies: Clean Cult
I love Clean Cult! I use a lot of their products. I have a refillable pump with their Lemon Verbena Dish Soap, their Dishwasher Tablets, their Juniper Sandalwood Laundry Detergent Sheets and their Fresh Lemon Toilet Bowl Cleaner Sheets. They’re sustainable and work amazing.

Cat item: Tidy Cats Breeze System
I bought my cats the XL Litter Box System. I only use one litter box in our home, but I clean it two or three times a day depending on the waste amount. I was so over clumping, disgusting litter being tracked around our home and into our bed. I’m really happy with the switch I made! The pellets can kind of get thrown around too, but it’s not nearly as frustrating as urine-covered sand in my bed.

Tea brand: Harney & Sons Fine Tea
I buy Harney & Sons loose leaf tea because I am constantly drinking it. I’m seriously obsessed with their Paris tea right now. It’s a fruity black tea with vanilla and caramel and lots of bergamot. I also drink their Earl Grey a lot and really enjoyed their Pumpkin Spice. But I think Paris is my #1 favourite tea I’ve ever tried.

Favorite content and content creators

Youtuber: Kimberly Rodriguez
Kimberly creates witchy content that feels like a warm, comforting hug. It feels like being invited to a sleepover and being shared another person’s beautiful culture. She shares personal rituals and experiences with her family and is also an illustrator. Her content is so authentic.

Podcast: Ghosteas
Ghosteas is a podcast created by two tea-enthusiast sisters. Their style of content is funny, uplifting and emotional at times. They share scary and emotional ghost stories from their viewers but also offer history heavy and research based episodes too. I find them so relatable and funny. My go-to when I take my afternoon nap.

(Non-friend) Stream: Alveus Sanctuary
Alveus Sanctuary is a non profit organization and wildlife sanctuary created by Maya. I’ve become to parasocially attached to the animals in the sanctuary. They also create YouTube content that I also enjoy!

Website to browse: This Isn’t Happiness
Having a space to browse for inspiration that isn’t overrun with AI has been so nice. He also posts regularly on Bluesky and other social media websites. I really enjoy just browsing through this and seeing the different photography, design and artwork by tons of artists.

Applications

Music subscription: Tidal
I made the switch from Spotify to Tidal and I literally haven’t looked back, not once. I used Tune My Music to transfer the playlists that I wanted to keep listening to. They pay their artists more than Spotify (and as of recently, obviously don’t run advertisements for ICE jobs)

Podcast application: Overcast
Since I’m not using Spotify anymore, I had to find an alternative for the podcasts I listen to. Overcast is a great option and all the podcasts I listen to are available on their platform!

E-mail service: Proton
I love Proton! I use their email service, along with their drive, docs, etc. I basically utilize everything I can that they have to offer. I deGoogled my life and Proton has been an amazing alternative.

Media I consumed

Album: moisturizer – Wet Leg
I kept returning to this album this year. It’s the perfect unserious indie sleaze album. It makes me feel nostalgic for the hipster era of high school and I genuinely don’t skip a single song on the album.

Book: What Moves the Dead – T. Kingfisher
This book was such a quick read for me. I was so immersed and tense the entire time I read it. I realized I love botanical horrors because of this book and I’d love to read the rest of the series eventually.

Movie: Longlegs
While this wasn’t released in 2025, I got to watch it this year. I really enjoyed this move! I didn’t watch a lot of films this year, but I loved how uneasy and tense I felt watching Nicolas Cage’s acting.

Game: Strange Antiquities
Same with games, I didn’t play a lot of new games this year. I didn’t even finish Strange Antiquities, but I really enjoyed what I did play. I hope to finish this beautiful game in 2026.

These are all the things I kept returning to in 2025. Things that sparked joy again and again. As I’m heading into no/low buy in 2026, I’m not sure how much of a list to share for next year! Happy new year.
